The reading1 Timothy 3:14-16
“Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.” — 1 Timothy 3:14-16
Read 1 Timothy 3:14-16
14Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these things 15in case I am delayed, so that you will know how each one must conduct himself in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. 16By common confession, the mystery of godliness is great:
He appeared
in the flesh,
was vindicated by the Spirit,
was seen by angels,
was proclaimed among the nations,
was believed in throughout the world,
was taken up in glory.

When life becomes overwhelming, our natural instinct is often to take control, solve the problem, and carry the burden ourselves. Yet in doing so, we may reveal a deeper struggle: we have forgotten that God is already present. This message explores the quiet ways we drift into self-reliance, acting as though we are alone in our challenges, decisions, and fears. Through Scripture, we will discover how everyday moments of worry, impatience, and striving can become reminders to pause, recognize God’s presence, and trust His guidance. Join us as we learn to trade the weight of self-sufficiency for the peace that comes from walking with God each day.
